We were going to Mersea but it was tipping it down with rain first thing and could'nt face the 40 mile drive. So went to Levington instead,it was light when we got there but filled in as we rigged the 8.5 for the longboard.Several were there including Steve,Mark S,Dolphin Paul,Roger and son Paul all on big short boards with 7/8.5 sails.I started off with a reach do the dock then back to text Rob to come down with his kite gear and then a mega beat to Pin Mill, with fast reaches back!!! Rob was ready to launch in the bay by then with Mag his nervous kite caddy!!! I got his kite up and he was away with his 13 in winds gusting to 20mph+ and was having a good time and getting some good jumps!!!I then had some really hairy reaches to the docks to see the huge container boats(the containers were 18 wide on the decks) the wind was on the limit for the 8.5,so after nearly 3hrs it was time to call it a day.I helped Rob put his kite down by which time the tide had gone out and I had to walk a way back, but still a great days sailing.
